A fun song about the joys of Rottnest Island from a cyclist’s point
of view. |
PEDALLING HOME
Have you been to Rottnest it's a special place to go
City skyline fades into the sea
Feel your mind relaxing as you bump across the waves
It's the closest thing i know to being free
Chorus:
When you hire a bike and take a ride
See the bays on the other side
Dolphins playing in the tide
Over there at Rottnest
Cycle home when the lights are low
Evening breezes start to blow
Mind the Quokkas as you go
Pedalling home again
See the mother osprey on her nest of broken twigs
Smell the flowering Ti tree on the breeze
Leave your cares behind you, you won't need them any more
Life is so much simpler overseas
Chorus:
There's a coral crusted shipwreck
There's a rainbow in the surf
There's a legend in the shady Morton bay
When you feel the joys of living
And the laughter that it brings
You know you're on that Rottnest holiday
Chorus:
So hire a bike and take a ride
See the bays on the other side
Dolphins playing in the tide
Over there at Rottnest
Cycle home when the lights are low
West end sunset afterglow
Mind the quokkas as you go
Pedalling home again
