The Man in The Moon © Bernard Carney March 98
The man in the moon is all purple and green
He’s the scariest thing that i ever have seen
His eyes are two craters his big pointy chin
Would skewer a star if it came close to him
But the man in the moon is my friend
He knows just where it all ends
He knows when to rise and he knows when to fall
He knows all our secrets he’s keeping them all
And the man in the moon weaves the spell
He knows but he never can tell
Just as well
The man in the moon has two nobbly knees
They’re crooked and wrinkled and made out of cheese
He doesn’t have much time to go out and play
He’s shining by night and he’s sleeping by day
But the man in the moon is my friend
He knows just where it all ends
He shines on the desert he shines on the sea
He lights up the darkness for you and for me
And the man in the moon weaves the spell
He knows but he never can tell
Just as well
The man in the moon has a scary old face
But he’s cold and he’s lonely way out there in space
Some nights he rises with tears in his eyes
And the droplets fall gently as rain from the skies
But the man in the moon is my friend
He knows just where it all ends
And he shares all his moonbeams from way up on high
He watches us live and he watches us die
And the man in the moon weaves the spell
He knows but he never can tell
And the man in the moon is my friend
He knows just where it all ends
